Hi, I’m Shruti

Design is about human behavior first, and interfaces second. My approach as a Product Designer combines rigorous research with an obsession for craftsmanship—whether I’m scaling design operations or navigating the nuances of AI-first initiatives. I’ve spent over a decade transforming untapped customer demands into intuitive solutions that have increased sales by 20% and boosted CSAT scores annually. I value precision, diversity, and the pursuit of market fit through rapid iteration.

P.S. Did you know UX and I have something in common? We both have that 'X' factor—for UX, it's the Experience, and for me, it's my X chromosome. I guess we’re both just built to be 'X-traordinary'!

Creative Beginnings

My design approach

For me, Product designing is the journey from the problem space of the customer/user to the solution space of the business. It starts with real problems and ends with product market fit by delivering the right product to the right people.

The process I follow is Triple Diamond, a combination of Design Thinking Ideology and Agile methodology

Goal is to reduce the gap between unmet customer needs and business solutions

So, product designing for me is the alignment of user value (target customer, their problem, and potential solution) with business value (Business goal, vision, and strategy). And this is how I apply product thinking methodology:

  • Starting with a problem not a solution

  • Uncover why people use the product

  • Solve the problem and achieve business outcomes.

  • Product first, features second

  • Right feature for the right people

Product designing is solving the problem yet also creating a demand in the market.

Flowchart illustrating the product development process divided into three phases: Discover (orange), Design (green), and Deliver (blue). The Discover phase includes research activities like user research and market research. The Design phase involves ideation, prototyping, and storyboarding. The Deliver phase encompasses building, testing, and launching the product. The timeline indicates a progression from problem space to solution space, then to execution space, with icons representing product managers, designers, and developers along the bottom.

The three children are in traditional clothing: a girl in yellow, a girl in a multicolored dress, and a boy in a yellow kurta with glasses. All are smiling, with the children standing close to the adults.

Me and My Work Style

I bring energy and colors to the workplace – greys and navy are too boring for this bold, bright soul from India! 😄 As an ambivert, I thrive in 1:1s but need a bit to warm up in big groups.

As a Designer

  • Problem-solving is my superpower.

  • Passionate about inclusive design.

  • Team camaraderie fuels my creativity.

  • I make decisions logically, with data and research, but trust my gut too.

Beyond Work

  • I live with three amazing humans, two of whom I created myself. 👫

  • I balance work and life with music, weight training, and travel – aiming to explore 20 countries in 5 years (already at 11!).

  • Coffee snob alert: Starbucks isn’t real coffee. ☕️

  • Fun fact: I dislike chocolate, so my friends' sweets are safe around me.

  • Bucket list goal: Get a skydiving license before 40.

What I Value

  • Diversity and inclusion are my core beliefs.

  • Authentic, genuine people and their stories.

  • Team collaboration, reliability, adaptability, and clear communication.

  • Mentors who inspire, communicate openly, empathize, and delegate effectively.

Pet Peeves

  • Endless email chains with no clear goals.

  • Over-engineering – I’m all about “Build, Measure, Learn.” Let’s focus on data and impact.

How to Communicate with Me

  • Big fan of Slack – shoot me a direct question or coffee chat anytime! ☕️

  • I value constructive feedback.

  • Communication style: High tact and directness for mentors, high directness and low tact for the team.
